We have a strong passion for climbing and the great outdoors, which has driven us to create something special in Lake City. We take pride in our park, which brings people together and fosters a community of adventure enthusiasts.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 24 in 24 campaign. This initiative is not just about addressing our immediate needs, but also about taking the next step in realizing our vision of creating something truly remarkable. Our goal is to create 1 mile of ice in the Henson Creek Canyon, and the first phase of this project begins now.

What do we need from you?

Together, we can make a difference! By giving back to the park, you are supporting a place that provides free access to thrilling ice climbing adventures 24/7. Every donation, big or small, counts and will make an impact. So, we're asking you to give what you can, whether it's $2.40 $24 or $2400 (which will give you route naming rights), and help ensure that Lake City Ice Climbs continues to grow.

Why do we need to raise $24,000?

Pumphouse Park is in need of a reset. While we have been fortunate to receive generous donations in the past, enabling us to maintain our systems and expand to new areas, many visitors to Lake City are unaware of the extensive effort and expense required to create the ice in our town. With your help, we can create a new, self-sufficient system that will allow us to reset and expand the Pump House Area and offer new climbing routes for people of all levels.

For almost 20 years, the Town of Lake City Public Works Department has allowed the ice park to use town drinking water at Pumphouse Park, and we are grateful for the millions of gallons of water they have allowed us to use over those years. However, the time has come for us to become self-sufficient and move off the town's municipal water system since they must account for and regulate all the water used.

To make this change, we need to purchase and install a new electrical transformer, another pump in the river, another 1500 feet of heat tape and pipe, and all the fittings and hoses for that system. This investment will cost around $24,000 and will replace the current system that is dependent on the municipal water supply. The good news is that it will allow us to significantly expand the Pump House Area and double or even triple the number of routes currently at the Pump House area, adding approximately 25 routes. Additionally, it will allow us to add variation and have ice on some taller cliffs, like some of the easier routes at Dynamite Shack.

What is the future of Lake City Ice?

This expansion will take us one step closer to our ultimate goal of covering every cliff on that side of Henson Creek from Pump House to 1000 feet past Beer Garden for a mile of easy access ice climbing.
We are committed to creating a world-class ice park and keeping ahead of potential crowding so everyone can experience the magic of climbing in Lake City. We believe that with the support of our community, we can achieve this goal and continue to offer a unique and unforgettable experience for climbers from all over the world.
